Muse II is an original abstract painting built through sweeping lines, layered marks, and softened arcs. Warm rust, coral, gold, cream, and slate tones gather into an expressive composition where an abstract feminine presence slowly comes into view.
 
The Muse series began as an exercise in line, a deliberate departure from the circular forms that often appear in Maria Jewett's work. As layers of mixed media and oil paint developed, abstract feminine forms began to emerge. The series reflects the courage to follow an unfamiliar visual language and allow the work itself to become the muse.

Original mixed media and oil painting on paper. Artwork measures 9 x 12 inches and will arrive archivally matted in white and presented in a natural oak frame measuring approximately 16 x 20 inches. Ready to hang.
