About Maria Jewett
Maria Jewett is a self-taught abstract panter and mixed media artist based in Atlanta, GA.
Maria draws inspiration from nature and flowers to create colorful and vibrant paintings. Her art is designed to bring creativity and interest to spaces, often characterized by the dynamic use of colors and shapes. Her work explores creation, presence, emotions, and nature using acrylics, pastels, graphite, watercolor, and other gestural mark-making tools, primarily on paper and canvas. Maria’s approach to art is intuitive, allowing her imagination to guide the process.
Beyond painting, Maria is the Director of Brand and Communications at Gas South. Maria is skilled in building cohesive brand narratives, driving customer engagement, and leveraging data-driven marketing strategies to achieve business goals.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Albion College in Albion, MI. Maria is a certified Reiki Master in the Usui method, and her articles have been published in Reiki Magazine:

Artist Statement
To me, art is creative expression and connection.
Art is imagination manifested in space. It brims with ideas, potential, and the ephemeral, shaping into something tangible. It is vulnerable. It is an escape, an obsession, an experiment. Art originates from within before it is appreciated for its beauty and emotional power. Art gives you the feels. My art practice and painting process is a form of meditation whose seeds took root early in my childhood. I was a late bloomer to painting, exploring it for the first time during the pandemic. Painting keeps me focused and present, yet it also completely sweeps me up into creative flow. When I’m painting, I let go of control and create. I allow myself to get carried away; to lose track of time.
